What Colleges Require
The following is a list of 100 colleges and information about which tests they want their applicants to take.
Notice that most liberal arts colleges do not require any SAT 2’s and many do not require the SAT/ACT either.
Most public universities require the SAT/ACT but do not require any SAT 2’s.

Note also that many schools we work with have not submitted any SAT 2’s to those schools and have still
been admitted. Cornell has different rules for each of its seven colleges, as well as for some of the
programs within those colleges. Also, many schools do not have a requirement but some majors do. For
example, if you are planning to major in Engineering, Business, or Pre-med, you should submit a Math
SAT 2.  Pre-med students should also submit a science SAT.

Finally, notice that all colleges accept ACT scores as well as or instead of the SAT, and often instead of both
the SAT and the SAT 2. Overall, the purpose of this list is to get you to realize that there are many, many
schools that will look at your grades, your recommendations, and your extra-curricular activities and will look
at your standardized tests only if they will help your application. Of course, you should check on a specific
college’s web site to verify the requirements.
